Presso l'Unità Operativa Complessa di Diabetologia e Nutrizione Pediatrica dell'Università e USSL 20 di Verona - Direttore Prof.Pinelli - è stato di recente attivato un ambulatorio pubblico di nutrizione vegetariana dedicato a neonati, bambini, adolescenti e ai loro familiari.
Questo ambulatorio nasce dall'esigenza di offrire alle famiglie vegetariane un supporto pratico e facilmente accessibile sul tema dell'alimentazione vegetariana, con l'obiettivo di colmare il vuoto in questo settore soprattutto da parte della medicina territoriale.
L'ambulatorio viene svolto dal Prof. Leonardo Pinelli con il supporto della dietista Dott.ssa Ilaria Fasan e prevede una visita pediatrica, misurazioni di peso ,statura, pliche cutanee, valutazione dell'alimentazione del bambino e della famiglia, educazione alimentare.
Se necessario vengono eseguiti esami di laboratorio specifici (ferro, ferritina, calcio, proteine, Vit.B12, Vit.D, ecc.)
